L’il Champs - It’s The Final Countdown!!

One more reality show is ready for the Grand finale. The final countdown of SaReGaMAPa L’il Champs has begun, as the winner will be announced on 1st March. The creatives of L’il Champs have gone all out to make the finale extra special with grandiose plans and have planned out events to not only make the event memorable but also to keep the viewers glued on to the TV screens until the very last moment.

The whole show has been choreographed by the dance guru - Shiamak Davar. Keeping in mind that the little participants are performers first and not dancers, the noted choreographer has created dance sequences that are totally unique. The L'il champ contestants and Aditya Narayan will be dancing to the feet tapping chart toppers like Dard-e-disco, Rang barse bheege, Tumse milke dil ka hai haal kya kahein, songs from the movie Race etc". In fact Shiamak is so impressed with the enthusiasm, dedication and performance of the L'il champs & Aditya that he has bestowed the Shiamak Davar Scholarships which will allow the top 10 finalists as well as Aditya Narayan to go and learn dancing in Shiamak Davar classes free of cost!!!!

When asked, Payole the Creative Head of SRGMP explained more about the finale preparations. “We are organising a grand entry for everyone before they come on the stage. Also the show will be divided into different theme based segments. There will be one segment dedicated to Qawaali songs, one dedicated to club songs, one to UP flavor songs and one dedicated to Ajay and Kajol Devgan favorites, as they are the celebrity guests. So you will see different flavors in this finale,” said Payole. On the choreography she said, “The whole dance sequence is choreographed by the dance guru Shiamak Davar. The dance choreography is performed by Shaimaik Davar Junior Academy, so except Aditya Narayan we will see only kids taking centre stage. The choreography will be unique and will also have its own story to tell.”

Apart from the participants, the other main attractions will be performances by Sonu Nigam, Suresh Wadkarji, Aditya Narayan, last year L'il Champ finalists – Sanchita, Sameer and Divakar.
Little Nagin, Khushi Dubey will perform on a Nagin song. Even Alladin Team will be putting up a skit and Raju Srivastav will team up with Aditya Narayan to put up another skit.

The show promises to be totally entertaining. This is going to be a show to watch out for.Catch all the action on March 1st and get to know who will be crowned the SRGMP L'il Champ....

Uproar on the sets of SRGMP after elimination

With the Grand Finale of SaReGaMaPa drawing close everyone wait with baited breath to know about the elimination. But this week’s elimination on SaReGaMaPa saw a big hue and cry over the elimination. It was AAamir Hafiz who got eliminated this week and his family members present on the sets created such a ruckus that all hell broke loose. Pleas from Aditya and the judges all fell on deaf ears. The celebrity judge Amjad Ali Khanji too told him that the matter laid entirely at the discretion of the judges and he was no one to question that. Even poor AAamir's pleas were disregarded. The matter reached such a stage where the shoot was on the verge of cancellation when AAamir was pulled down by them from the stage and made a walk out.

On asking AAamir’s brother, he too confirmed the incident and gave his reason for the act. “Yes we people don’t accept the elimination because AAamir was a very good singer and he was always on the top and everyone knows that he is better than Tanmay and Rohanpreet. I think they cheated us. The voting pattern is wrong. Each and every family member and even my friend's would daily send 100 voting message to Aamir, so how can he loose. The channel has played a nice game on us,” was Aamir’s brother’s reply. On asking who is to be blamed for the elimination, the Judges or the Voting pattern Aamir’s brother made it very clear that Judges had no role to play here. “The elimination was not in the hand of the Judges. The channel is fully responsible for the elimination. They cheated us,” retorted his brother.

Aamir himself was quite upset and shocked with the elimination. His family members are yet to decide if now he’ll carry on with the tour Zee as planned for these Lil Champs.

Amrita Rao & Mithun Da on SRGMP L'il Champs

Flat on the floor after being bowled over by the delightful surprises sprung at him on the sets of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs’, Sonu Nigam asked for a moment to compose himself before he could resume shooting.

From being shown footage of his first film as a child artiste, ‘Pyaara Dushman’ to having his Guru Gulam Mustafa visit him on the sets, Sonu couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed when his 3-year-old nephew Jasraj, dressed in a white tuxedo, went up on stage to sing ‘Kya Hua Tera Waada’, the very song with which Sonu had begun his journey as a stage performer. Sonu was in splits when his chaddi buddies Bunty and Kailash paid the sets a visit and regaled the audiences with nostalgic tales of their college days. The team at ‘Li’l Champs’ delivered its final blow when they showed Sonu an AV they’d shot of all the music composers he has worked with. Their glowing words of praise and affection served as a knock-out punch for an already emotional Sonu.

The icing on the cake was the presence of Mithun Da and Amrita Rao as special guests on the sets along with the new hero of ‘My Name is Anthony Gonzalves’, Nikhil Dwivedi. While Amrita sparkled in Zee’s hot new hue, purple, everybody’s favourite 'Disco Dancer' made a splash by turning up on a chartered flight. While the crowd burst out with rip-roaring laughter and cheering on seeing Mithun Da dance like a siren to li’l Vaishali’s rendition of ‘Laila Main Laila’, young Vibhor in his true-blue flirtatious ‘andaaz’ presented Amrita Rao with a rose and shook a leg with her. On Aditya Narain’s insistence, Sonu brilliantly mimicked Remo Fernandes with ‘Humma Humma’. Woah! What a Hungama!

This Week On Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs -December 7, 2007

Episode 15
December 7, 2007

This episode was rocked by the original superstar, Usha Uthup. When introduced she sang a song dedicated to and tailor made for the Indian Cricket team, Dil Se Shout India. She thoroughly enjoyed watching the kids perform and was especially pleased when some of them sang her songs. She said goodbye to one and all in her signature style, singing one of her all time favourites, Shaan Se for Lil Champs. Aamir Hafiz floored the judges and the audience with his rendition of Yamma Yamma while Anamika Chaudhury came in with Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba, which received some criticism from Sonuji regarding her carelessness. Loria Doshi’s performance of Rabba Ho was more of a dance one than a vocal, according to Suresh Wadkar. Rohanpreet’s ‘Mehbooba’ was impressive, though, according to Sonuji it could have been even better given his potential. Rohit Shyam Rao’s Aa Dekhe Zara and Tanmay Chaturvedi’s Yeh Din Toh Aate Hai were the most appreciated performances of the evening. Smita Nandi was pulled up for her scale selection in Hari Om Hari. Sonuji lauded Vasundhara Raturi’s effort at singing Ushaji’s song in front of her, Koi Yahan Nache as it takes some courage to do that. Vibhore Parashar’s performance of Dil Lena Khel Hai was very entertaining and gave Sonuji some opportunity to tease him about it. A fun-filled episode made even more fun by the presence of Usha Uthup and the kids’ rocking performances.

Lil Champ Star Of The Week

Tanmay Chaturvedi

Tanmay has been a real revelation of the contest. He is a precocious talent, who started performing on the stage at an age of five. Though he hasn’t received any formal training, his natural talent shines through with his honey sweet voice and easy adaptation of different genres. This particularly came through with his easy recital of ‘Mujhe main Shiv hain’, a semi-classical song from the film ‘Kisna’. However he outshone others with the performance of ‘Yeh Chand sa Roshan Chehra’ from ‘Kashmir Kali’. Not only did the crowd start foot tapping to the song but he also pulled Soha Ali Khan to come and cozily dance next to him.

Sonu Nigam gets his diary autographed by Aamir

Sonu Nigam gets his diary autographed by Aamir

The ever-elusive Aamir who refuses to grace even the biggest award functions of the film fraternity delighted his fans recently when he descended on the sets of Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs. In true-blue Aamir style, the perfectionist arrived for the shoot a good twenty minutes ahead of time. Quite contrary to his otherwise serious image, Aamir was sporting enough to break into the Aati Kya Khandala' gig with li'l Vasundhara, enact the famous Zara AC idhar karna' scene from RANGEELA for li'l Tanmay and sign ardent fan, Sonu Nigam's oldest personal diary. Touched by the impressive performances of his own songs by the little ones, Aamir was full of praise and encouragement for them. Like they say, jab bhagwaan deta hai, toh chhappad phaad ke deta hai.

It was a moment on cloud 9 for Sonu Nigam when childhood bow-idol Aamir Khan recently appeared on the sets of Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs and affectionately autographed a diary Sonu had carefully cultivated, capturing hundreds of pictures of the superstar through the years. Almost choking with joy, Sonu told Aamir that he had idolized him since he was knee-high, watched his every film, read his every interview and dreamt of enjoying a female fan following like his. Aamir was very touched on seeing the diary and said, "Sonu, in fact, I am a huge fan of yours and admire your versatility. And if as a teenager, you fantasized of having a female fan following like mine, you have most certainly lived out your dream" Proving Aamir right, Aditya Narayan went on to add that the team at Li'l Champs has been inundated with fan mail for Sonu. Salma, a Sonu-fanatic from Dubai has been eagerly writing in to tell Sonu that she has a collection of pictures that showcases all his hairstyles ever since he began his journey of fame as the charming host of Sa Re Ga Ma.

Soha Ali Khan Graces L'il Champs this week

Last week, the L'il Champs gave performances on Asha Bhosle’s favourite songs, and this Friday, they will sing their own personal favourite songs. All of them give really fantastic performances; Shy Rohanpreet sings “Pardesi Pardesi Jaana Nahi”, and his Daddy dearest now reveals to all that the song was for someone very special called Ambar. Vasundhara too gives a fabulous performance and gets many cute pet names from Sonu Nigam. But it will be Amir who will finally steal the show with his rendition of Teri Deewani. Sonu this time makes sure to come up on the stage to hug him and appreciate the L'il Champ. It is also the extra elimination day as was decided last week. This elimination causes bit of a controversy, and parents stand up for their kids. So do we finally see an elimination?

Saturday L'il Champ has a special guest on the sets. It’s none other than the beautiful Soha Ali Khan who is there for the promotion of her film “Khoya Khoya Chand”. With her as the guest, the Lil Champs make sure to turn the episode into a playful one. Do catch her, tapping her feet merrily with none other than “Chhote Badmash” Tanmay. Tanmay would be performing on the song “Yeh Chand Sa Roushan Chehra”, which incidently is also Soha’s personal favourite. Rohit too enthralls the audience with his “Roop Tera Mastana” and gets lot of praise from the judges. Saturday also saw the birthday celebration of Rohanpreet.

Tune in to Zee SaReGaMaPa 's L'il Champ on friday, 30th Nov and Saturday, 1st Dec at 10 PM IST and catch on all the fun, frolic, excitement and Masti.
